SDH: Governance

 

Taking a social determinants approach requires governments to coordinate and align different sectors and different types of organizations in the pursuit of health and development; for all countries, rich and poor; as a collective goal. Building governance, whereby all sectors take responsibility for reducing health inequities, is essential to achieve health and development. Intersectoral action; that is, effectively implementing actions relevant across different policy sectors; is a key component of this process.
