An illustrative set of draft case studies are posted here prior to the launch of Action:SDH. These social determinants of health case studies were produced by WHO through various initiatives, starting with case studies produced by the WHO - Public Health Agency of Canada collaboration on intersectoral action (2007), in support of the work of the Commission on Social Determinants of Health (CSDH). Also, during and following the CSDH, certain regional offices produced case studies to encourage knowledge sharing on social determinants of health actions. Finally, most recently, case studies were produced across all WHO regions in response to a specific call from WHO for case studies for the World Conference on Social Determinants of Health (19-21 October 2011).
We are currently searching for case studies to enhance the Examples collection. We invite all members to submit interesting case studies on addressing the social determinants of health.
