Principles of Use of the ACTION:SDH network

Principles

The ACTION:SDH site is part of an overall effort to engage people to help reduce health inequalities by making concerted policy action that will positively affect the social and economic determinants of health. The purpose of the site is to help people communicate and to share experiences and knowledge about what is happening around the world to promote health through cross-sector policy action.

Individuals should have the freedom to build networks and exchange information about health and policy through the site. Individuals will have access to the site as long as they do not violate the Terms of Use. Individuals will engage on the site in a respectful and non-discriminatory manner.

Actions that are contrary to this principle will not be accepted.

Terms of Use

By using or accessing the site, you agree to these terms of use:

  1. The purpose of the site is to help people communicate and share experiences, information and knowledge on working in the policy arena with the aim of improving health. Topics should be related to the social and economic determinants of health in a policy-making context. It should not be used for activities that are not related to this objective.
  2. You will not send or otherwise post unauthorized commercial communications to users (such as spam, but also postings that clearly advertise a product).
  3. You will not collect users' information, or otherwise access the site, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers).
  4. You will not upload viruses or other malicious code.
  5. You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.
  6. You will not post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or graphic or gratuitous violence.
  7. You will not use the ACTiON:SDH site to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
  8. You will not create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.
  9. You will not solicit login information or access an account belonging to someone else.
  10. You will not share your password, let anyone else access your account, or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account.

Protecting Other People's Rights

  1. ACTION:SDH can remove any content you post if it believes it violates these Terms of Use.You must own, or be affiliated with content uploaded to the site, e.g. author, owner or rights holder.
  2. You will not post anyone's identification documents or sensitive financial information on the site.
  3. You will honestly and accurately inform users of the organizations and entities with which you are affiliated.
  4. ACTION:SDH is not responsible for how the content is used outside theACTION:SDH site.

Document Sharing and Copyright

  1. It is the responsibility of Members who load documents onto the site to ensure that they obtain copyright approval before sharing any documents via ACTION:SDH.
  2. The World Health Organization and other any organizations who are granted administrator rights to ACTION:SDH accept no responsibility for obtaining copyright approvals for material loaded by ACTION:SDH users.
  3. The designations employed and the presentation of the material in ACTION:SDH do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the World Health Organization and other of the contributing organizations to the administration of ACTION:SDH. 
  4. The mention of specific companies or of certain manufacturers' products does not imply that they are endorsed or recommended by the World Health Organization in preference to others of a similar nature that are not mentioned. 
  5. The material on ACTION:SDH is being distributed without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied. The responsibility for the interpretation and use of the material lies with the reader. In no event shall the World Health Organization or any of the organizations contributing to the administration of the site be liable for damages arising from its use.  

Formation of groups

  1. Groups formed on the site should be relevant to the topic of the social and economic determinants of health in a policy-making context.
  2. Groups and postings of the material on this site do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the World Health Organization concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area or of its authorities.

Termination of use

If you violate the letter or spirit of these rights and responsibilities, or otherwise create possible legal exposure for ACTION:SDH you will be denied access to the site and an attempt will be made to notify you, but the site has no obligation to do so.
